Install Netbeans 5-0 with J2EE 1-4 Server

PRE-REQUISITE

This application requires Java SDK 1.4.2 or 1.5 (Refer Step 2-4)

STEPS

1) Download files

Download from http://services.netbeans.org/downloads/all.php?b_id=1195&src=1 

This tutorial uses the Windows Installer version.

2) Run Installer

Eg sjsas_pe-8_2_2005Q2-nb-5_0-fcs-bin-win.exe

2-1) Welcome Screen.

2-2) Accept Terms.

2-3) Set Installation Path

2-4) Select JDK

2-5) Confirm installation.

2-6) Installing…

2-7) Done.

2-8) Check NetBeans Application Shortcuts.

2-9) Check Java Application Server Application Shortcuts.

3) Test Run.

3-1) Run NetBeans.

3-2) Go to menu File/New Project.

3-3) Select Web/Web Application

3-4) Accept default settings.

(Notice that in J2EE Version field, the value is J2EE 1.4)

3-5) Click Finish.

3-6) Project created successfully.

3-7) Run the project.

3-8) Web Page runs at localhost addresss.
