Virtualbox Guest Additions On Centos 6.3

Setup steps for VirtualBox Guest Additions on Centos 6.3.

The VirtualBox Image for Centos 6.3 is available at http://virtualboxes.org/images/centos/ under the item no. 6 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualboximage/files/CentOS/6.0/CentOS-6-Gnome-i386.7z/download). However, this image doesn't have the VirtualBox Guest Additions installed.


1) Download the image. Unzip and load it to VirtualBox Manager.

2) Run Centos 6.3

3) Using Terminal Window, type the command:
yum install dkms binutils gcc make patch libgomp glibc-headers glibc-devel kernel-headers kernel-devel

3a) In case you get additional missing component notification, type the command:
yum install kernel-devel-2.6.32-279.el6.i686

4) Install Guest Addition from VirtualBox menu.

5) Once the CD icon appears on Centos 6.3 Desktop, double-click the icon to run the file. Guest Addition should be installed successfully.
